Fine 2mm round African turquoise beads in shades of pale green and brown are combined with an old silver leaf, which was originally part of a Beduin silver earring from Yemen. Karen silver accent beads are added in an asymmetrical design on each side.

African turquoise refers to a form of jasper found in Africa. It often resembles turquoise, but usually much ligher, hence its name. What makes African jasper so beautiful are the multicolored, often brown, black, rust toned webs or bands of color that make up its matrix.
